John Sudnick – President

John Sudnick John has worked in the combustion, incineration, and air pollution control fields for over 29 years.  His expertise includes thermal and catalytic oxidation systems, wet and dry absorption systems, wet and dry particulate collection, and process design.  John has designed and managed numerous air pollution reduction projects. These include hazardous air pollutant (HAP) control systems, NOx reduction systems, and particulate collection systems. He has experience in the specialty chemicals industry, the pharmaceutical industry, the pulp and paper industry, and the metals industry.  As a project manager, he has directed air-permitting projects, designed air pollution reduction systems, and implemented process system modifications.

David Kirby – Vice President

David Kirby David has over 15 years of experience in the environmental field. He has managed and completed complex environmental projects in all media (air, water and waste) across the United States. He spent two years with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) in the Air Quality Group and has over 15 years experience with national environmental consulting firms managing various environmental permitting, permit negotiation and pollution control design and installation projects.

Ken Jones -Vice President

Ken has over 30 years of experience in Electrical Engineering and design of power distribution and process power systems for industrial manufacturing plants and facilities. He has served as Project Manager and Lead Electrical Project Engineer responsible for developing and executing the project design scopes and coordinating and scheduling the overall electrical design. His technical expertise is in Electrical High Voltage Distribution Systems, including equipment specifications, load studies, short circuit analysis, coordination studies, and Arc Flash Hazard Analysis.  Additionally, Ken is Chairman of IEEE 1584.1 and a member of the IEEE 1584 Working Group-Arc Flash for Arc Flash Analysis.

Ivan (Bud) Strope - Sales Manager

Bud has over 30 years of experience in the field of industrial combustion, energy recovery and air quality control with emphasis on solid and liquid waste incinerators, bio-fuel fired boilers, and thermal oxidizers, including regenerative, recuperative and catalytic oxidizers.  He has worked, in various capacities, for several corporations specializing in combustion technologies, including E.A.C. Engineering, Joy Energy Systems and Svedala Industries.  Bud has extensive international experience, including conducting business in Asia, Latin America and the Mideast.  He has a degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology and is a United States Marine Corps veteran.

David has over 20 years of experience in the field of electrical engineering and design of process control systems and low voltage power distribution for industrial manufacturing facilities.  His expertise includes the design and development of one-line drawings, PLC I/O elementary drawings and control schematics, control panel layout and connection drawings, electrical equipment layout and conduit / cable plans and the development of electrical construction and installation scopes and specifications.  David has successfully designed and managed hundreds of electrical and controls projects for multiple repeat fortune 100 clients.  These include over 400 projects for PPG Fiberglass worldwide, over 50 projects for Philip Morris, USA, over 20 projects for Firestone Building products and over 10 projects for 3M polyester films. He has experience in the fiberglass manufacturing industry, the polyester films industry, the specialty chemicals industry, and the food and tobacco industry.

Jason W. Davis – Engineering Manager

Jason has over 12 years of professional engineering experience with a focus in the Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) aspects of the field. Jason has been involved in nearly all aspects of the EH&S field ranging from Multimedia Compliance Audits, Environmental Site Assessments, Risk Management Planning and Process Safety Management, Air and Wastewater Pollution Control Design and Construction Permitting, to Health and Safety investigations, compliance plans, and employee training. Charles Scolaro, PE -Senior Project Manager

Charles has worked in the construction field for over 30 years.  His background includes technical studies, permitting, system design and construction management for numerous municipalities and industrial clients throughout the United States.  In addition to his work with BRLI, Charles has held senior management positions in several large firms.  This includes President of Severn Trent’s Pipeline Services division, which provides sewer system evaluation studies and rehabilitation services, including flow metering, smoke testing, and internal inspection of sewers throughout the United States.
